A closely fought match that could have gone either way ended with Kingpins adding to King's relegation concerns with a 7-3 win.  Mark Purcell was the star man with a hat-trick plus a doubles win with Julian, with Mark keeping his nerve to win 3 of these in the deciding end.

I arrived late but just in time to see Guy Chieff Sparrow defeat Julian to tie the match at 1-1. An excellent win for Guy there. Plenty of close matches followed as we moved on to 2 tables but when you are down at the bottom, these often have a tendency to go against you and tonight was no exception.

After this latest defeat, is there anyway back for Kings? The talent is there but can they discover that winning touch and put together 3-4 results to claw themselves back into the rest of the pack?

I note that Dave Wackrill doesn't often give his 'shot of the night' comments anymore but I'm going to give it to me tonight following my successful diving shot to get an edge shot from Mark back into play.  Sadly I didn't win the point though as Mark kept his focus to put my shot back on the table and, despite my best efforts, i couldn't quite crawl my way across the floor to get this one back  (although I did get my bat to it)!

Man of the match: Mark Purcell.
