Always an enjoyable match when Cavaliers play Chackmore Wannabes, we started off well enough with Cavaliers wins in the first three games, John Bradley getting an excellent win against James Beckett, Anjana Navalkissoor beating Colin Beckett and Chris Welch getting a win against Charlie Harrison, although Charlie managed a much improved performance to the last encounter, winning a leg.

The doubles went well for the Cavaliers pairing of Chris and John in the first two games, with the familiar Beckett brothers partnership improving well in the following three games and taking a well-deserved and fought for first point of the match.

The second round of singles sets kicked off with James playing very well against an in-form Anjana and managing a straight games win.  The sparring of John and Charlie then took place and it was clear something wasn't right with Charlie - he finished the first game, in which John took the spoils, and then stopped with chest pains.  It was clear he wasn't feeling well.  A decision was taken by Chackmore to play the next game, with Charlie pulling out of his final singles as well, and then see how he felt.  Chris and Colin then played, with Colin taking the first two games and Chris managing a comeback in the final three, a familiar old story between this pair of sets going the distance regardless of who gets the win.

Charlie was still not feeling well and so Chackmore understandably decided to get him home - thoughts obviously are with Charlie and we're all hoping he makes a quick recovery.  The score could easily have got to 3 or 4 for Chackmore, but obviously priorities lie with ensuring your teammate is okay and resting - the right decision.
