Craig takes Generations to Brown Town
A King, a Titan, a National Treasure, he goes by many names, but one thing is certain….. Craig Brown is still undefeated.
Playing their first match at home, The MK Titans hosted another new team (full of old faces) in Leighton Buzzard Generations.
Captained by Hakan Karaagac, he was joined by Tim Cheek (formerly of Spinners), and the Luxembourger looper, Fabrice Spelta.
Nick Howard and Guy Sparrow joined the herculean Brown for a familiar look.
Hakan had initially looked unstoppable dispatching Howard and Sparrow without breaking a sweat.
Tim secured a mighty fine win over Guy, closing it out 11-9 in the 5th, whilst Fabrice was not quite on it on the night - His mind away with the upcoming Ryder Cup as he lost all 3.
Nick avenged his 4-0 defeat to Tim in the summer league with a strong performance and teamed up with Craig to take the doubles against Tim and Hakan.
Heading into the last match of the night (at 10:45 no less), Hakan comfortably won the first 2 against Brown for the loss of just 12 points.
At 11 pm, it looked like Generations had secured their 4th win of the night, with their captain to thank for it.
But as Labi Siffre once sang, there is “something inside so strong” in the big heart of Craig “MK Poster Boy” Brown.
With the prospect of a day off from work the following day, he clung on to the match and pulled back to 2-1, before some inspired play put him into a decider.
With the help of 3 missed Hakan serves in the 5th, Brown ran out a comfortable winner to maintain that 100% record.
10 excellent matches on the night, but the MK Premier Champions reign supreme.
