TOPSPIN TRIUMPH AT LAST

I don't often lead with a bottom of the table match but it's hats off to MK Topspin this week after their 9-1 victory over fellow strugglers Open University Primes to lift them off the foot after 8 straight defeats. It was Topspin's biggest ever all-time Prem win coming on the occasion of their 49th Prem match.  Congratulations go to Mervyn Kelly, Jiten Pitamber and Mal Hussain. a particularly sweet treble for Topspin stalwart Mervyn too, as it was a rare Prem hat-trick for him and his first for Topspin.  Andy Tan picked up Primes solitary win when beating Jiten.  Commiseration to winless Patrick Wong and Ning He.

Meanwhile at the other end of the table MK Titans domination continues at pace with an 8-2 win over clubmates Spinners.  Not only are Titans the only team to go unchanged all season but the trio of Nick Howard, Craig Brown and Ricky Taiwo are also the only Prem players to have turned out in every match to date.  Alan Cherry beat Adebola Odetayo and Craig Brown for Spinners' consolation sets.  Former Spinner Michael Wilkins stepped up from Div 1 to complete their side.

Greenleys Warriors are also moving along nicely after an 8-2 win themselves over club-mates Glory, whose Iain Lindsay put up some stout resistance when claiming a brace over Darren Ward and Ameya Phatak.  Adrian Piotrowski hit a Warriors hat-trick while it was blanks for Glory's Ian Brown and Jacob Midson.  With matches in hand the Warriors are well set to reclaim 2nd place in the table.

Current runners-up Leighton Buzzard Generations may be hard to shift though, given the array of talent in their squad. They produced the third 8-2 scoreline of the week when beating Greenleys Monarchs, whose players made the long trip to Wing on Friday.  Both sides featured debutants with contrasting fortunes, Ming Fuk Lui making light work of his opponents while Tosh Verma failed to score for the visitors. The Monarch sets came courtesy of Tomek Nowakowski, who beat Hakan Karaagac, and Martin Hall with a victory against Biao Wang.
