Amother match dominated by the father and son team of Iain and Joe Lindsay, who both maintained their 100% records without conceding a leg, Joe only conceding a total of 40 points. However they came unstuck in the doubles against the regular Vantage doubles pair of Sue Lewis and Tony Ardis. Sue and Tony won the first two legs fairly easily but a strong fightback by the Lindsays saw them take the 3rd by 15-13 and pushed the home pair all the way to a 12-10 win in the 4th, That levelled the match at 2-2 after Tony had beaten Dave Plumb in 4 legs in Tony's first match for a month.
After Iain beat Sue to regain the match lead for the Eagles, Dave and Mike Howard played the only 5-leg match of the night. Dave won a close first leg and Mike won the second by 11-5 to level the set. the 3rd and 4th legs were extraordinary,with first Dave and then Mike racing into a 7-0 lead before easing into the next leg. The final leg, was a much closer thing, won by Mike 11-8 with a lucky edge shot.
Following straight leg wins by Joe over Tony and by Sue over Dave, the match seemed poised at 4-4. Tony and Iain then played the most entertaining set of the night, won by Iain in 3 legs, followed by a very comprehensive win for Joe against Mike to give the Eagles a 6-4 victory and, for Vantage, their best result of the season.
