Titans Survive Sasaki Scare!

Like the nightmare before Christmas, Mike Wilkins led his team of Junior superstar, Noah Levens, and Luton’s favourite, Minesh Pitamber to face off against Nick Howard, Matt Horrocks and Guy Sparrow.
It was nip and tuck all night, with 4 of the ends going the distance.
Sparrow was the unlucky recipient of 2 of those, when leading Noah 2-1 (brilliant fightback from the Junior) and when leading Minesh 2-0, only to lose the next 3 ends 11-9.
The other 2 involved Howard, who survived an inspired Mike Wilkins to close it our 13-11 in the 5th….. Helped by a foul serve from Wilkin when he had match point at 10-9.
The doubles (Howard/Horrocks vs Wilkins/Pitamber) was almost another disaster for the Titans.
2-0 up and cruising, before finding themselves 5-3 down at the turn in the 5th!
But the Titans showed their class to win 8 of the next 9 points for a solid victory.
Noah blitzed his way past Horrocks in 3 straight, but was on the reverse end of that scoreline against Howard, who also took down Minesh in 3 for a much needed hat-trick.
With Wilkins beating an out of sorts Sparrow 3-0, the 3-1 victory for Horrocks over Wilkins was a much-needed result to ensure the Titans finish strongly before Christmas, and make it a whopping 11 wins from 12 matches with just the 1 draw.

From everyone at the Titans, we hope you have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
