Kings stun Monarchs in the nightmare before Christmas.
Back to back clashes for the top of the table saw Kings and Monarchs face off again.
Identical teams, except Gary Deakin replaced a rather bed ridden Nick Howard, whose family have been dropping like dominoes to the curse of “nursery bugs”, brought home by the little one.
Joining Gary was Matt and Guy, and opposing them was Ian, Tomek and Martin.
You’ll be pleased to know that I can’t bore you with a shot by shot account of what happened, as I’m writing this from the comfort of my own bed - I was tempted to add some creative flair, but the score line speaks for itself.
The hero, and player of the week last week, Ian Johnston, was winless on the night, as was the ever dangerous Tomek.
I can’t imagine a match where both of these players have lost all 3 - If there has ever been one, let me know!
Martin “Cho Cho Cho, Merry Christmas”, Hall, took a stunning win over Guy Sparrow, deuce in the 5th. This was made all the more impressive by Guys dominating performance over Ian and Tomek, but Martin will feel justification having lost in deuce in the 5th last week.
He also had a chance to win 2 on the night, as he pushed Gary all the way to 11-9 in the 5th. It was one Boom too far though, as Deakin held his nerve to take the match.
No troubles for Matt this time around, as he was in faultless form, only dropping one game all night, and Gary stepped up to the plate impeccably to record a perfect hat trick.
This included 2 “come back from behind” wins, against Martin and Ian - The latter was especially impressive, as he was 2-0 down.
This puts The Kings past the 100 point mark for the season, and gives them a 12 point lead with only 7 matches remaining.
The Kings have averaged 7.8 games per match over their first 13 matches - An impressive statistic in itself.
With the Kings and Monarchs looking set to finish in the top 2, and the Warriors in with a shot of finishing 3rd, could we see a Greenleys 1-2-3 finish in the MK Prem for the first time ever?
Not bad for a little junior school on the outskirts of Milton Keynes.

Kings 9 - 1 Monarchs
