KINGPINS TOPPLE BANDITS
A hot Dave Allison was the bedrock for a Kingpins win against Bandits tonight. Without dropping a singles set all night Dave powered through Dave Buckley, James Tapp and Captain Mike Wilkins.
Ably supported by Mark Purcell and a welcome return for Julian Adams, Kingpins quickly leapt into a 3-0 lead.
Mike and James managed to peg them back in the doubles against Dave and Mark in a topsy turvy 5 setter, before 4 points were shared without a set being dropped, the aforementioned Mr Allison taking 2 for Kingpins with Mike beating Mark and James beating Julian to make the score 5-3.
Julian took the first set against Dave Buckley, and stormed into a 7-0 lead in the second set with hitting akin to years playing with Dave Wackrill and Sarah Hudson. He never looked back, making it 5, 3 setters, in a row and securing the win for Kingpins.
Mark and James finished the match, having both been on the end of a 3-0 loss earlier in the match, Mark took the first easily, with James losing in deuce in the second the pressure was on, and Mark took the point in the fourth.
