UNBEATEN SASAKI HELD BY BANDITS
Bandits and Sasaki met for the first time this season having both beaten Monarchs and Spinners. But it was a changed side for Sasaki, with Carl answering a last minute call to replace Dakshin who was unwell.
It was a similar story for Bandits, with Mike having to step in for Matt Evans due to illness, with Mike himself trying to recover from injury.
Jamie versus Matt Horrocks was the first game on, which Jamie took after a fight back from 9-3 down to clinch the fourth set and Bandits first point.
Dan Smalley dispatched James three straight after a slow start to level the match 1-1.
Mike took the point against Carl before a tense doubles between James / Mike against Matt and Dan finished 11-9 in the fifth to Sasaki.  Bandits would come to rue that loss.
Dan made sure he didn’t underestimate Jamie and a controlled effort took Sasaki into the lead for the first time in the evening without dropping a set.
The lead didn’t last long, when Mike beat Matt three straight and James did the same against Carl.
4-3 to Bandits, and Dan and Mike went head to head to see who would remain unbeaten for the night. Dan claimed the victory in four following some great rallies.
This had a draw all over it, and Bandits wishing the doubles had gone their way.
Jamie took Carl before the final match of Matt versus James. Matt started slowly, losing the first two, before fighting back to win easily in the fifth to secure the draw.
