Match reports
Week beginning 9th February 2004
Andy Smith of MK Explorers made a name for himself in Division One of the Milton Keynes Table Tennis League. Smith ended Margaret Maltby's 100% unbeateb record and won 13-11, 8-11, 11-6, 11-8. Smith maintained his performance and beat Warton and Hollis in four. Despite Smith's maximum, it wasn't enough and Marlborough won 7-3 with David Snaith winning nothing and Explorers not having a third player.
Newport Pagnell Blackadders were also in action in Division One against Woburn Sands Crickets. With the first four singles going to the final game, it looked as though the match was likely to end in a draw, as had the previous two meetings between the sides. The final game between Michael Howard and Rob Norton was to establish which of these two players would secure a maximum. Luck favoured the home captain, winning 11-9, 7-11, 11-8, 11-7, who was able to secure a 6-4 win for his side.
