Mursley wins sports award

Mursley, Swanbourne and Little Horwood Table Tennis Club ended its first full year in style having been awarded the Aylesbury Vale North Sports Council Senior (over 18s) Club of the Year Trophy for 2003.
The prestigious Ray James Trophy was presented to representatives of the club by councillor Hedley Cadd, Chairman of Aylesbury Vale Districts Council and Barry Abraham, sports editor of the Buckingham and WinslowAadvertiser (Sponsors), at a special awards ceremony held at Buckingham Rugby Club.
Organised by AVNSC in association with Sports England, the award, which is open to all sporting organisations in North Buckinghamshire, is presented annually for "Progress and Achievement in Sport."e;
Founded as recently as October 2002, following receipt of a Help the Aged Citizens' Millennium Award, the club has attracted more than 100 players of all ages to its twice weekly sessions. Some are beginners, others have returned to the game after a number of years and a term of more experienced players won the Buckingham and Districts League at the first attempt. In addition to defending the Buckingham title, MSLH has this season also entered three teams in the Milton Keynes League.
The Club, which operates from Mursley Village Hall, is open for social table tennis every Tuesday morning from 10am until noon and every Thursday evening from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, all standards are welcome.
