The Challenge cup semi finals took place at Kingston at last night with two very close matches and an element of misfortune at the end of one of them.

Mursley Swifts managed to build up an early lead on the handicap in one of the semi finals against Little Horwood Wooden Tops which graduallly got eroded over the evening but they managed to hang on to win by 7 points on the night and progress to the final.

The MK Tornadoes/ Greenleys Crusaders match was nip and tuck throughout the evening so much so that at the end of the evening it eneded up a draw at 417 points all. This should have led to a final handicapped doubles leg to decide the outcome. Unfortunately one of the Crusaders players who had not played in the original doubles leg had left for the evening and despite attempts to find a replacement they were unable to met the requirement that this deciding doubles leg be played by a different combination than previously with the result that the deciding leg ended up being conceded and Tornadoes progressing to the final.

The final is next Tuesday with Swifts receiving a 160 point start.

The Top 8 competitions also take place next week with Premier, Divisions 1 and 2 on the Monday night, Divisions 3 and 4 on Tuesday and Divisions 5 and 6 on the Wednesday. The divisional trophies for the Winners and Runners Up of each league will also be presented at the start of each division's respective Top 8 competition.
