Division 2 Roundup - for League week commencing 14-Jan  (Week 13).

Division 2 positions only changed very slightly during the recent League week sandwiched in between the Cup round 1 matches.

Leaders, OU Primes, maintained their winning run, making it 12 in a row since their only defeat in their first match of the season,

inflicting an 8-2 defeat on struggling Greenleys Cardinals, as both Charity Wong and Charles Tien won trebles, taking Charity to

nine wins on the bounce, although Larry Lung suffered his first singles defeat, against James Zeng, whilst the doubles pairing of

James & Dan Englander (who only played the doubles) got the other Cardinals win, to stem an 11 doubles win streak for Primes.

Second placed Chackmore Hasbeens are now 14 points behind the leaders, after a 7-3 win against Mursley Swallows, featuring
a maximum for Andy Whitehead, including a doubles win with Chris Whitehead, taking Hasbeens' doubles record to 12 from 13.
Chris also picked up a couple of wins, only losing out to John Paul, whilst Sam Willett picking up the other Hasbeens point, with

a win against Peter Sear, but he also lost out to John, as well as to Roger Shelton.

Third placed changed hands, as MK Classics moved up a place, after picking up a big 9-1 win against NP Lagondas.  Dylan Cox kept

up his good form to record another maximum, to take his winning streak up to 13, and team mate Masoud Nassor also collected
a maximum, including the doubles with Dylan. Nick Markham had earlier lost the opening set of the night to Glen Davison, but it
was slim pickings for Lagondas after that, although Leon Rogers took Nick to a decider in the final set of the night.

MK Tornadoes dropped to fourth spot, as they were held to a 5-5 draw by Mursley Hawks, for whom Mervyn Phillips was again
unbeaten, extending his winning run up to 11 in a row, also winning the doubles with Andy Palmer. For Tornadoes, both Tanmay
Tijare and Charlie Gray collected two wins, aided by one win for Nicolas Wong, with Andy King gaining the other Hawks victory.
The draw takes Hawks level on points with fellow Mursley team Swallows, with just five matches to go.

The final D2 match of the week saw MK Hit n Hope climb above Swallows, courtesy of their 7-3 win over bottom team, MK Blades.
A return to the team after an absence for Marco Hahn, but the same result, as he won all his sets, as did Ivor Howard, whilst they

also paired up to take the doubles. Blades team of Andy Phillips, Mark Thomas and Brian Evans each collected one singles win, at

the expense of a winless Mike Ainsworth.
