TOPSPIN ROLLED OVER BY THE PITAMBER EXPRESS
We crashed to our heaviest defeat of the season tonight with the Pitamber boys taking all the sets between them with their aggressive and consistent attacking play. Well done to them.

After easily beating Powers in the opening match of the season it was a case of all change for this return fixture, as I said to Mervyn before the match “they’ve sent the first team to play us this time”. Iain Willcocks usually silky backhand wasn’t working for him here but the ‘brothers’ more than made up for his lapses. Jiten, in particular, was unstoppable with only one game dropped all night. Russell Penn, Mervyn and me were just blown away by his quick and accurate attacking. Minesh dropped 3 games and needed to save 3 match points against me but was only marginally less effective. They were both coming off successful weekends too and full of confidence with Jit beating Tomek Nowakowski in Aylesbury and Minesh bringing home silverware from Cippenham. Needless to say, they took the doubles 3-straight.
